Author Instructions for Missiology and Evangelism Journal (MEJ)

Thank you for considering the Missiology and Evangelism Journal(MEJ) for your scholarly work. To ensure a smooth submission process and adherence to our publication standards, please follow these detailed guidelines.

Online Submission of Manuscript

Authors must submit manuscripts via the journal’s online submission portal(the link to this portal is in progresss), or by Email address available at [mej@gospeljournals.org].

  • Register or log in to your account to begin the submission process (i.e when registration and a portal to upload/submit a manuscritp is available on the website).
  • Upload your manuscript file in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format, ensuring anonymity for double-blind peer review.
  • Ensure all supplementary materials (e.g., figures, tables, or appendices) are uploaded as separate files.

Cover Letter

A cover letter must accompany each submission and should include:

  • The manuscript title.
  • A brief description of the study’s significance and originality.
  • A statement confirming that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under review in another journal.
  • Disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest.
  • The names, affiliations, and contact information of suggested reviewers (optional).

Ethics and Integrity

The Missiology and Evangelism Journal (MEJ) adheres to strict ethical guidelines. Authors are required to:

  • Ensure the manuscript is original and free from plagiarism.
  • Obtain necessary permissions for any copyrighted material used.
  • Disclose funding sources and any conflicts of interest.
  • Adhere to ethical standards for studies involving human or animal subjects, including obtaining appropriate approvals and consent.

Manuscripts found in violation of ethical standards will be rejected.

Style of Manuscript

Manuscripts should be written in clear and concise English. Use standard academic language and avoid jargon or overly technical terminology.

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size
  • Spacing: Double-spaced throughout, including references.
  • Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Citation Style: Use the Chicago Manual of Style (author-date system).

Order of Manuscript

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

A. Title Page

  • Manuscript title (concise and informative).
  • Names of all authors and their institutional affiliations.
  • Corresponding author’s name, email, and phone number.

B. Abstract

  • A summary of 150–250 words outlining the objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions.

C. Keywords

  • Provide 4–6 relevant keywords to facilitate indexing and retrieval.

D. Introduction

  • Briefly introduce the research context, objectives, and rationale.
  • Include a clear thesis or research question.
  • E. Materials and Methods

    • Provide sufficient detail on study design, data sources, and analytical methods to enable replication.

    F. Results

    • Present findings clearly and concisely, using tables or figures where appropriate.
    • Avoid interpreting results in this section.

    G. Discussion

    • Interpret findings in the context of existing literature.
    • Highlight the study’s contributions, limitations, and implications for further research.

    H. Conclusions

    • Summarize the key findings and their significance.
    • Avoid introducing new data or interpretations here.
    • The main conclusions of the experimental work should be presented. The contribution of the work to the scientific community and its economic implications should be emphasized.

      I. Acknowledgement

      • Recognize contributors who do not meet authorship criteria.
      • Disclose funding sources, if applicable.

      J. References

      • Include all works cited in the manuscript.
      • Format references using the Chicago Manual of Style (author-date system).

Additional Notes

  • Figures and Tables: Include these in separate files but indicate their placement in the manuscript (e.g., “Insert Figure 1 here”). Use high-resolution images.
  • Word Count: Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words, including references and appendices.
  • Revisions: Authors must address all reviewer comments systematically and resubmit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe.
